Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 Slots
Pragmatic Play has also drawn up the Christmas spirit into their popular Greek mythology slot, Gates of Olympus 1000, and is being sprinkled with some holiday magic simply in time for the big day. A snow-doused Greek temple, Zeus in a Santa hat and red robe. The soundtrack has been tweaked, but you won’t hear any Cheery Xmas jingles. It’s a little harder to hit than in the original game. I’d say the hit rate is still pretty solid. The good news is that the top tier (97%) RTP remains the same.
What’s it about?
The gameplay remains familiar, mainly when it comes to it. Unlike the original, you can place bets from $0.20 to $100 per spin. There is still the Scatter Pays system in play. You need matching symbols appearing anywhere on the grid to win. The premiums are in the order of the top-tier golden crown, hourglass, ring, and goblet — all the same symbols. Low payers are snow-dusted gems and a 12-win award between 2x and 50x your stake.
Theme And How to Play
Values for the multiplier symbols can increase to x1,000. In tumble sequences, these multipliers will accumulate into your total win. The bonus round goes even further with a global win multiplier that does not reset with tumbles. If a multiplier symbol makes a part of the win, the value of this global multiplier is added to it, sometimes giving enormous rewards.
Bonus Features
The wheel determines the bonus round, but if you’re ready to jump into the bonus round, you can have a double chance of doing just that with the Ante Bet feature or just buy the bonus round outright with the bonus buy function. It is tempting to keep your maximum win of your stake. Anyone who’s played the original game knows what to expect. The features are there for newcomers, but the mechanics and features stay the same.
Multipliers And Tumble Feature Symbols
After each win, the Tumble win mechanic is turned on, removing the winners and dropping them down. Within these gaps, new and existing symbols fill the gaps while you keep winning. Every tumble sequence adds to the multiplier values inherent in the multiplier symbols, which can bring values from x2 to x1,000. Multiplier symbols appear in both the base game and the bonus round.
Free Spins And Multiplier
Landing scatter symbols in view wins you, and the bonus round kicks off with many free spins. The global win multiplier is increased by each of the multiplier symbols that take part in a win. The win multiplier continues to build without resetting for as long as the bonus lasts, and the global win multiplier is built with additional multipliers, leading to a nice win.
Undeniably hilarious if you have threatened to see the stern and ripped ruler of the gods with a Santa hat and a red robe. But he does get the look down, having that perfect white beard. They obviously picked this popular slot to put a festive makeover on, and I have to admit, I saw no reason for them not to go a bit further with the Christmas theme. All things considered, it comes off as a reskin job, and not in a bad way.
It’s a great slot game for introducing new players to festive fun. The core mechanics are all the same, and there’s still the chance to hit some very explosive wins using the multiplier symbols. I love the original game; it’s one of my all-time favorites, but I suppose I will have to roll with this Christmas version a couple of times during these lulls of the parties.
The great maximum win-hit rate combined with the 15,000x potential is the original game’s major selling point. That’s a pretty strong combo, especially when you multiply that along with those multipliers going up to 1,000x. The max win hit rate here is excellent, given how many other slots payout at such a low rate, but it’s 4x worse than the original.
It’s up to you to decide whether you go with the Christmas or original versions. If you are in a festive mood and want a slot with a little Christmas vibe, you will want to give it a few spins. Maybe Santa Zeus will bring you some extra luck. But if big wins are something you’re serious about, the original game is the better option. That being said, I appreciate Pragmatic Play’s transparency; they are letting us know the stats to decide which game to play.
